ENHYPEN Universe Theory That You Should Understand
First, you should know what ENHYPEN Universe is. This term is the primary theory of ENHYPEN’s debut story that was created by BE:LIFT Lab which is a non-fictional story. ENHYPEN Universe (EU) will always be presented by the agency through their official content such as music videos, choreography, song lyrics, or anything. At their debut, they took on a vampire concept as their form. They put all theories in their music videos or debut introduction video. Then, the concept is still connected in other music videos of ENHYPEN.
ENHYPEN Theories From MVs
As we know, since its debut, ENHYPEN already had interesting theories and storylines. Moreover, one music video theory always connects with another music video. So, here’s the fifth music video from ENHYPEN with the theory!
“Let Me In” MV Theory
“Let Me In” is the 2nd single that ENHYPEN released 20 days after their debut. This video uses a sci-fi theme, and the members are wearing lab outfits. In the video, the members walk through a room filled with galaxy projections, liquid chemicals, and dinosaur fossil replicas. Many fans have guessed that the theory of this MV is about the parallel world by featuring 3 versions of ENHYPEN. At the start, we can see they’re covered with plastic-like statues, and it can describe ENHYPEN after their debut. Then, another ENHYPEN version plays happily in a warehouse. Suddenly, Sunoo sees a glass of blue supernatural liquid, and he drinks it. After that, there’s a scratch under his eyes, and a red door opens. It turns out that they’re trapped in the forest of a parallel world. Actually, there are so many versions of ENGENE in this MV theory, but there’s one thing for sure. They want to show that even though they’re idols now, they don’t want to be treated like a doll who must be perfect all the time.
“GIVEN-TAKEN” MV Theory
Next is “Given-Taken.” ENHYPEN debuted through this single MV, and they got a lot of attention from fans because the concept is so incredible! By using a dark-intense concept, ENHYPEN managed to get many views on YouTube. Moreover, the music and background are very mysterious. The MV background is from the Victoria era. This MV is inspired by the anime Promised Neverland which is about kids who are deliberately produced to be devil food. Meanwhile, ENHYPEN are at an orphanage and will be subject to experiments by consuming a pill to become vampires. There are so many theories here such as with Sunoo’s eyes that have different colors. Then, Jake, Jay, and Sunghoon are trapped in the crypts and discuss their fate and whether to choose to become vampires or not. Meanwhile, Jungwon tries to tell his friends from the outside of the window about something. Actually, there are some members who have powers. They are Sunoo and Jungwon. Sunoo can see the future and knows about Jungwon’s special ability. Sunoo wants to bite Jungwon to make him become a vampire without taking the pill. Jungwon can teleport to other dimensions easily. At the start of the MV, Jungwon’s nose is bleeding and he has no fangs. It’s because he switches to a human version. But, in the end, he transforms into a vampire and shows his fangs. The meaning of this MV is that the vampires describe them from when they were still becoming trainees who had to live a life full of suffering to make their dreams come true as idols.
“Drunk-Dazed” MV Theory
“Drunk-Dazed” is also connected to another storyline of a previous MV. There are so many theories by fans in this MV. Some of the theories are in Sunoo’s scene. He sits by a fountain while dripping red water into the fountain pool. That liquid is blood which is the source of the vampire’s immortal power. Another theory is connected to Greek mythology. Some of the members are dressed like a noble family. Then, there’s a woman who’s presumed to be ex-GFriend’s Sowon as a goddess (Artemis) who protects ENHYPEN.
“FEVER” MV Theory
The MV which was released on May 19th, 2021, begins with a scene with the members running towards a place. Then, there’s a black fume that seems to want to ensnare them, especially Heeseung. The outfits that they wear are also similar to the previous MV, “Drunk-Dazed.” Because of the spell that they did with the mysterious woman, now they’re immortal so they can escape from their dimension. But, in this MV, they’re trapped in limbo and want to escape from there.
“Blessed Cursed” MV Theory and Storyline
The video that uses a retro and 70’s style manages to embrace Y2K’s fashion trends. Besides the achievements, there’s still an interesting theory here! ENHYPEN lives in the Matrix. This MV is similar to The Matrix where the main cast has to choose between blue and red pills. ENHYPEN chooses the red pills (a rebellion), and they don’t know that they are serfs in the Matrix, though in the end, they realize and want to escape from the curse. They’re like marionette dolls that are controlled by someone. They also want to get rid of the curse even though, at first, they thought that it was a blessing. So, that’s all about the five ENHYPEN music videos with amazing theories. After reading this article, surely your curiosity has been cured!
