On October 20th, 2009, the South Korean boy band SS501 released its seventh Korean mini-album Rebirth under DSP Media. The title track of the album is “Love Like This.” The single “Love Like This” is a track collaborated by Steven Lee, Sean Alexander, and Drew Ryan Scott. The single was also sung by Varsity Fanclub, Scott’s group, in English lyrics with the same title, which was released later in 2010.
Rebirth is actually SS501’s first group album after the release of solo and subunit albums in over one and a half years. The mini-album consists of five tracks including the title track “Love Like This.” ” Love Like This” is a fresh, uptempo synth-pop number that was specially crafted for SS501 by Steven Lee, Drew Ryan Scott, and Sean Alexander, with Grammy Award-winning mix engineer Ken Lewis on board for the mixing.

On December 5th, 2005, DSP Media released the SS501’s second mini-album, Snow Prince, five months after their debut. The group earned their popularity and rose to fame right away as they won many rookie awards after their debut. The title track of the album is also of the same title “Snow Prince.” The album has a winter season theme, particularly their lead track, “Snow Prince.” In 2006, the single, “Snow Prince” won two music program awards on M! Countdown.

On May 24th, 2010, SS501 released their last EP titled Destination before the expiration of their contracts with DSP Media. The lead track of the album is “Love Ya” and it was composed by Steven Lee. “Love Ya” is a song that has a grand and emotional mid-tempo with heavy beats accompanied by an orchestra, and blended with a piano melody.
On June 11th, 2010, they achieved their first win for the lead track, “Love Ya” on KBS’ Music Bank. On June 18th, 2010, DSP announced that SS501 has ended its “Love Ya” promotions due to the expiration of their contracts on June 7th, 2010, five years after their debut.

UR Man
On November 21st, 2008, South Korean boy band SS501 released their fifth Korean mini-album and the unofficial debut album of SS301 (the subunit of SS501), U R Man. The album was released by DSP Media and published by MNET media. U R Man is the only SS501 album that does not feature members Park Jung-min and Kim Hyun-joong.
At that time, Kim Hyun-joong was busy filming his drama series Boys Over Flowers, and Park Jung-min was busy with his musical debut in Grease as Danny Park, while the remaining three members debuted as the subunit of SS501 called SS301 with Heo Young-saeng as the leader of the subunit.
The title track of the album is of the same title “U R Man.” The song is a high tempo dance track, with a catchy mid-tempo melody, and an urban house sound. The group also collaborated with American music production company Pisces Music to add new sparks to their album. The subunit also performed “U R Man” in episode four of Boys Over Flowers, where they appeared for a cameo performance.
“U R Man” is about a broken-hearted person where the man still loves the woman that has already left him. “I’m your man, I’m your man. On the street, wandering about again. Don’t know where I’ve been. Perhaps you will show up again.”
